Event overview

The Federation Ultra Trail is a trail running event held at Monarto Safari Park Visitor Centre, Monarto, South Australia. The event was first held in 2018 and the course uses the southern end of the Lavender/Federation Trail from Monarto Safari Park to the riverside trail head at Sturt Reserve in Murray Bridge. Since 2019 it has been part of the S.A. Five 50's Ultra series.

Course and fundraising

Runners have access to Monarto Safari Park walking trails and may see roaming wild African animals such as meerkats, giraffe, bison, chimpanzees and rhinos along parts of the route. Proceeds from past events have raised in excess of A$35,000, donated to Monarto Safari Park to help protect endangered species.

  • 10 km Fed Zoo Loop (starts and finishes at the visitor centre)
  • 5 km Zoo Five (family friendly, walkers allowed)
