About
The FBI Jerry Dove Memorial 5K honors the late Special Agent Jerry Dove, who was killed in the line of duty. The event is also dedicated to the memory of all law enforcement officers, firefighters, military personnel, and others killed while serving. It is sponsored by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Citizens Academy Alumni Association.
Course
The 5K course is a paved out-and-back route. It starts and finishes on Jerry Dove Drive inside the East Security Gate of the FBI's CJIS Division Complex in Bridgeport. Runners proceed along Jerry Dove Drive toward the main facility, loop around a portion of the parking area, and return to the start/finish. Walkers start at the same time, lining up behind the runners. A water stop is located at approximately miles 1 and 2. A warm-up and spectator area is near the start/finish line. Due to the location, only race participants are allowed on the course after the start.
Registration & Logistics
Registration opens on June 15, 2026. Race day registration is available from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the Visitors' Center. Pricing for the 5K is $30 for early bird registration (June 15–July 17), then $35 from July 18 through race day. A kids' race for children 10 and under costs $15.
Packet pick-up for pre-registered participants will be at the Holiday Inn Express, 20 Sweetbrier Lane, Bridgeport (time to be determined). All packets must be collected before 8:30 a.m. on race day. They include an official race bib with a timing chip.
Commemorative long-sleeved cotton T-shirts for adults (and short-sleeved for kids) are guaranteed for participants who pre-register online by September 23. Shirts are provided while supplies only after that date.
Awards & Details
Awards are given to the overall top three male and top three female finishers. Medals are also awarded to the first three male and female finishers in multiple age categories: 12 & Under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.
Refreshments are provided after the race. The event is held rain or shine, with no refunds.
Participant Rules
Walkers are welcome. Bicycles, strollers, and roller blades are not permitted on the course. Cameras are allowed only at the start and finish line area, not on the course. Children must not be left unattended. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
