FBE Juneteenth 5K - San Diego
The FBE Juneteenth 5K is an annual community event hosted by Fit, Black, and Educated, Inc. The 6th Annual event takes place in San Diego on June 20, 2026 and brings people together to commemorate Juneteenth while promoting health, wellness, and unity.
Distances offered at the event include:
- 5K in person
- 3.1 miles virtual participation
- 0.62 miles 1K Kids Freedom Dash
Registration for the in person 5K and the virtual 5K carries a fee of $35.00; the 1K Kids Freedom Dash is free. In person registration includes a finisher medal, race bib, and a post race celebration. Optional race shirts are available as add ons while supplies last. Virtual participants receive a finisher medal and race bib and may complete the 3.1 miles at a time and place that works for them.
The event frames movement as a way to honor ancestors and strengthen community. Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865 when the announcement of emancipation reached parts of the United States, and the event emphasizes remembrance, heritage, and community resilience.
