About the race
Fast Track To A Cure 5K Bay Area is a community event on September 19, 2026 in Richmond, California that raises awareness and supports research for oligodendroglioma, a rare form of brain cancer. The event brings together survivors, families, friends, and community members and offers both in-person and virtual participation at the 6th annual Bay Area gathering.
There are multiple registration categories, including a paid 5K participant entry and a virtual 5K. People who have or have had any type of brain tumor or cancer may register at no cost as a patient, survivor, or thriver. Volunteer registration is also available; volunteers receive free registration and a volunteer t-shirt and can sign up for specific shifts. For most entries registration opens May 16, 2026 and closes September 19, 2026; volunteer registration opens June 24, 2026 and closes September 13, 2026. Registration creates an individual fundraising page for each registrant that can be customized if desired.
