Fast & Furry
Fast & Furry is the seventh annual run organized by the Manitoba Marathon and presented by Manitoba Hydro. It takes place on April 26, 2026, at Assiniboine Park on Pavilion Crescent in Winnipeg.
The Races
Two distances are offered for in-person participation:
- 5 km run or walk
- 10 km run or walk
Virtual options are available for the same distances, to be completed between April 26 and May 12.
Included with Registration
All in-person participants receive an event shirt, a custom race bib, and a bandana for their dog. Upon finishing, the runner gets a medal and their pet receives a matching pet tag medal.
Post-Race
Snacks are provided after the race: donuts from Oh Donuts for humans and treats from Trail Dog Treats for dogs.
Charitable Support
The event encourages participants to make a donation to support K9 Advocacy Manitoba, an animal welfare organization.
Registration Fees
Registration for the in-person race costs CA$89.01. Registration for the virtual version costs CA$56.81, with possible additional shipping fees for the participant package.
Practical Information
Package pick-up is available on April 24. On-site participant check-in occurs on event day. Pet safety guidelines are provided, covering dog socialization, the use of harnesses, and clean-up. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
