Fall Foliage and Cider Run (53rd Annual)
The 53rd Annual Fall Foliage & Cider Run is a community run and walk in Amherst, Massachusetts on October 17, 2026. The event supports Amherst A Better Chance, a residential high school program that prepares academically talented young men of color from educationally underserved school districts for college and future leadership roles.
The course starts at Amherst Town Common, partly circles the Amherst College campus, and enters the woodlands of the Amherst College bird sanctuary with a view over the Pelham Hills. The route then follows the Norwottuck Rail Trail back toward the campus. Participants may run or walk the course.
The event distance is 5 km. Registration categories and fees listed by the organizer include: 12 years and younger $20; 13 years and older $35; Students $25; Seniors 65+ $25; Team and Family registration $80 for up to five people; and a Fundraising Only category at no cost for non participants who wish to fundraise.
Refreshments at the finish include cider, donuts, fruit, and granola bars. Prizes are awarded for the fastest female, male, and nonbinary runners in each age group (0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+), for the fastest team, for the top fundraiser, and for the top fundraising team.
