Fall Foliage and Cider Run
The Fall Foliage and Cider Run is the 54th annual community 5K held on October 17, 2026, organized by Amherst A Better Chance to support its residential high school program for academically talented young men of color from educationally underserved school districts.
The course begins at Amherst Town Common, partly circles the Amherst College campus, and passes through the woodlands of the Amherst College bird sanctuary with a view over the Pelham Hills. The route then follows the Norwottuck Rail Trail back toward campus. Runners and walkers receive a cup of cider and healthy snacks at the finish area and awards are presented after results are tallied.
Event fees are published for different participant categories: adults $35, children 12 and under $20, families and groups $80, and seniors (65+) and students $25. Bibs are available at the registration table on the day of the event. Health screenings are not provided on site and participants who have experienced COVID-19 symptoms or a positive test within the ten days prior to the event may not attend.
