Bayshore Sprint and 70.4
The event takes place on E Ocean Blvd in Long Beach, CA 90803 and includes two triathlon distances: a sprint and a 70.4-distance event. Transition areas are located at Bayshore Playground and the Ocean Blvd parking lot. Street parking is available nearby and paid lots are also an option.
The swim is in open water with a sand start. Details provided include a 500 yard swim for the sprint and a 1.5k swim for the 70.4. Buoys are positioned so they remain on the athlete's left shoulder during the swim. Wetsuits are permitted and reported water temperatures range between 61 and 65 degrees. The swim exits lead to a short run to T1.
Bike courses are out-and-back formats. The sprint bike is 13 miles. The bike course is not closed to traffic and is open to the public. Run distances specified are 4 miles for the sprint and 13.1 miles for the 70.4.
Aid stations on the course provide water, ice, electrolyte drinks, ClifBar products, banana halves, pretzels, and gummy bears. Registration for each event includes a premium race shirt, chip timing with live results, course aid and nutrition, a finisher medal, post race food, and digital finish line photos.
