Fairford 10K
The Fairford 10K is an annual road running event organized by the Cirencester-based running club, Running Somewhere Else. The race is held in conjunction with the local Fairford Festival. The event features a single distance:
- 10 km
The race follows a traditional route that begins at the end of Park Street. Participants head west along Mill Lane before turning north into Quennington. The course includes a descent down Fowler’s Hill, which leads to the bottom of the largest incline on the route. A drinks station is located at this point. Upon reaching the top of the incline, the path turns right, heading south and downhill along Hatherop Road back toward Fairford.
The final section of the course consists of a loop through The Croft and onto the High Street. The finish line is located back on Park Street, situated outside the Race HQ at the local Cricket Club. The course holds an official Certificate of Course Measurement. The event provides participants with a commemorative t-shirt upon completion.
The current course records for the event are 31:43 for men, established in 2019, and 34:49 for women, established in 2008. The race is supported by various local sponsors and partners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
