Export 100 Trail Run : Export, Pennsylvania
The Export 100 Trail Run is a 104-mile out-and-back trail race that follows sections of the Westmoreland Heritage Trail and the West Penn Trail and also uses singletrack in the Morosini Reserve, Duff Park and Pleasant Valley Park. The course includes 7,392 feet of elevation gain and takes place in October in western Pennsylvania. Event proceeds are donated to the local trail community.
The route is open to the public on the multiuse trail sections, and bicycles may be present on the Westmoreland Heritage Trail and the West Penn Trail. Singletrack sections in Morosini Reserve, Duff Park and Pleasant Valley Park will be runnable only for participants. The race has an overall 32-hour cut-off and additional checkpoint cut-off locations along the course.
Aid stations are placed along the route and are described as either fully stocked or water only. Most listed aid station bathrooms are heated and have running water for runner and crew use, with the exception of Newport Road and Rangos. Aid station services include hot food, Tailwind electrolyte, and typical ultra-style snacks where noted. Pacers are permitted after mile 62 for the remainder of the race. The course is described as largely accessible for family and crew to view runners along much of the route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
