Event overview
ESSEX TRIATHLONS 2026 takes place on 16 May 2026 at Hanningfield Reservoir, Essex, located between Billericay and Chelmsford. The event is organised by Wild Deer Events and is held at Hanningfield Waterside Park, Giffords Lane, South Hanningfield Rd, CM3 8HX. The site is surrounded by mature woodland and about 870 acres of water. Dogs are not permitted around the reservoir because it is a designated SSSI. Free parking is available for participants.

- Sprint Triathlon - 750m swim, 25km cycle, 5km run
- Standard Triathlon - 1500m swim, 38km cycle, 10km run
- Sprint Aquabike - 750m swim, 25km cycle
- Standard Aquabike - 1500m swim, 38km cycle
- Sprint Triathlon Relay - 0.75km swim, 25km cycle, 5km run
- Standard Triathlon Relay - 1.50km swim, 38km cycle, 10km run
A secure transition area will be in place. Race and bike numbers match racking spots; a small bag or box is permitted in transition; bikes must be numbered and helmets visible before entry; competitor numbers are checked on entry. Bib and bike numbers must be shown after racing to collect equipment. Live chip timing and real-time results are provided by Timing Up North. Wetsuit use is optional and recommended for buoyancy and comfort. All finishers receive a bespoke event medal, event merchandise, and a snack and drink.
