Essex Fun Fest 5k Walk, Run, and Wheel
Essex Fun Fest 5k Walk, Run, and Wheel takes place on July 5, 2026 at Sadler’s Nature Park and Trail, 182 Forest Avenue, Essex, ON, Canada. This is the third annual edition of a not for profit event with all proceeds directed to the Essex Area Food Bank. The event includes music, lawn games and family activities, plus prize draws.
The event features a 5 km distance offered as walk, run, and wheel. The 2026 course is a new out and back loop through Sadler's Nature Park and Trail and along the Sypher Systems Group Greenway. The entire route is wheelchair accessible. Racers complete one loop around the pond before heading toward South Talbot Rd N; the turnaround is located at the 2.45 km mark and is supported by volunteers. Chip timing is provided by WRACE and awards are given to winning participants.
All participants receive a pre race warm up, finisher medal, branded t-shirt, tote bag and reusable water bottle, entry into raffle draws, and post race refreshments. Race kit pickup is available at the Essex Youth Centre on July 3 and at Essex District High School on July 4, with pickup also on race day at Sadlers Pond. Parking is available on surrounding side streets, at the fire hall, and at the wellness plaza on Victoria St. There are three park entrances: the pathway off Victoria Ave, the parking lot off Keown St, and the pathway off Thomas St. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
