Essex Fun Fest 5k Run, Walk, and Wheel
The 3rd annual Essex Fun Fest 5k Run, Walk, and Wheel is a non-profit event directing all proceeds to the Essex Area Food Bank. It takes place at Sadler’s Nature Park and Trail, 182 Forest Avenue, Essex, ON, Canada, on July 5, 2026.
The event offers a 5 km course with run, walk, and wheel categories. The route is an out-and-back loop through Sadler’s Nature Park and Trail and along the Sypher Systems Group Greenway; all participants turn around halfway to return to the start/finish area.
Participants receive a pre-race warm up, a finisher medal for both the 5k run and walk, a branded t-shirt (guaranteed for registrations before June 5, 2026), a branded tote bag, a branded reusable water bottle, entry into raffle prize draws, post-race refreshments, chip timing provided by WRACE, and awards for winning participants.
Online registration is available until July 3, 2026; last-minute entries may be accepted on race day up to the start but on-site registration must be paid by cash or cheque and carries a higher fee. Race kits can be picked up at Essex District High School on July 3 and 4 or on race day at Sadlers Pond.
Access to the park and race hub is possible via three entrances: the pathway off Victoria Ave, the parking lot off Keown St, and the pathway off Thomas St. The start line is located where the Victoria and Keown paths join, or down the first left pathway from the Thomas entrance.
