Essex Fun Fest 5k Walk, Run, and Wheel : July 5, 2026
The Essex Fun Fest is a non-profit 5 km event combining walking, running, and wheelchair participation at Sadler’s Nature Park and Trail (182 Forest Avenue, Essex, ON). Proceeds support the Essex Area Food Bank. This is the third annual edition.
The 2026 course is a new out-and-back route through park trails and the Sypher Systems Group Greenway. Racers complete a loop around the pond before heading toward South Talbot Rd N; the turnaround is at the 2.7 km mark and is staffed by volunteers. The entire route is wheelchair accessible. Chip timing is provided by WRACE.
All participants receive a pre-race warm up, a finisher medal (for both the 5k run and walk), a branded t-shirt (guaranteed for registrations before June 5, 2026), a branded tote bag, a reusable water bottle, entry into raffle draws, and post-race refreshments. Awards will be presented to winning participants.
Race kit pickup is available at the Essex Youth Centre on July 3, at Essex District High School on July 4, or on race day at Sadlers Pond. Pickup locations include the west entrance stairs of the Essex Recreation Complex for the youth centre and the front lobby on the Talbot St side for the high school. Parking is available on side streets around Sadlers Pond, at the fire hall, and at the wellness plaza on Victoria St. There are three park entrances: the pathway off Victoria Ave, the Keown St parking lot, and the pathway off Thomas St. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
