About the Event
This is the 3rd annual Essex Fun Fest 5k Run, Walk, and Wheel, taking place on July 5, 2026. The event is held at Sadler’s Nature Park and Trail, located at 182 Forest Avenue in Essex, Ontario, Canada.
The event is non-profit, with all proceeds directed to the Essex Area Food Bank. It features a family-friendly atmosphere with music, lawn games, and other activities. Exclusive prizes are available to win on race day.
Participants can choose to run, walk, or wheel a 5 km distance. A brand new race route has been created for 2026. It is an out-and-back loop taking place in Sadler's Nature Park and Trail and along the Sypher Systems Group Greenway. The entire route is wheelchair accessible.
What participants receive:
- A pre-race warm up.
- A finisher medal for both the 5k run and walk.
- A branded t-shirt (guaranteed for registrations before June 5, 2026).
- A branded tote bag.
- A branded reusable water bottle.
- Entry into raffle prize draws.
- Post-race refreshments.
- Chip timing provided by WRACE.
- Awards for winning participants.
Online registration is open until Friday, July 3, 2026. Last minute entries are available on race day up to the start. Race kit pickup is available at Essex District High School on July 3rd or 4th, or on site on race day.
