Eskdale Mixed Fell Relay
The Eskdale Mixed Fell Relay is a challenging fell running team relay event held in the scenic Eskdale valley of the Lake District, hosted by Black Combe Runners. Teams of eight runners, comprising mixed gender and age categories, compete across four legs totaling approximately 23.8 miles (38.3 km) with 7,530 feet (2,295 m) of ascent. Each leg involves rough, steep, and unmarked terrain requiring strong navigation skills without GPS.
The race starts and finishes near the Woolpack Inn, with mandatory checkpoints and a focus on safety and mountain competence. Proceeds support St Bega’s Primary School, making it a competitive yet community-focused event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
