Erin's Purpose 5k is an annual community event held in Worthington, Indiana, at 301 N Dayton Street. The event program includes multiple short-distance races and walks and presents awards and giveaways.
The supporting organization was founded in June 2018 after a family member died by suicide. In August 2020 the organization purchased a house in Bloomfield to provide services including Christian counseling, teen Bible studies, meeting space for teen gatherings or small groups, and public speaking in schools and other organizations about mental health and suicide prevention.
Distances and event types:
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
- Kids run
- 1 mile Walk
Awards are given for female and male age groups across ages. Competitive walk awards are presented to overall male and female winners. All participants in the kids race receive an award. The course is described as flat and fast, run as an out-and-back on two main streets in Worthington: south on Dayton Street, a short westward turn on Ohio Street, then north on Myra to Worthington Street before reversing back to the park and circulating the park drive counterclockwise to the start/finish area.
