Equinox24 at Belvoir Castle

Equinox24 is a timed 24 hour running event held within the Belvoir Castle Estate in Leicestershire. The event uses a mixed-terrain 10 km loop and includes separate race categories for shorter formats.

The event categories include:

• 24 hour run for solo runners or teams of 2 to 8
• 6HR run
• Day 10k
• Night 10k

The 10 km course passes lakes, wooded sections, hills and open fields and combines on-road and off-road surfaces. Runners may choose grass lines where available; some sections are uneven and include uphill and downhill stretches. The final section runs past the camping field and spectator areas. The night course is unlit and runners must use a head torch for unlit sections or night events.

On-site camping and event facilities are provided for competitors and spectators. Camping is included with 24 hour entries; non 24 hour entrants can purchase camping passes. Facilities on site include toilets, hot showers, water points, food and trade stalls, a bar, merchandise, and a central marquee with live entertainment. Bell tents are available for hire and come pre-set with mattresses and basic furnishings.

Race rules for the 24 hour event require whole laps for scoring, limit teams to one team member on course at a time, and use a wrist band as the relay baton. At least one completed lap is required to receive a medal. The 6HR and 10k events are chip timed and finishers receive custom medals and finisher shirts; the 6HR event also awards trophies for top finishers.
