Equal Access Birmingham Heart + Sole 5K
Equal Access Birmingham (EAB) holds its 11th annual Heart + Sole 5K on November 7, 2026 in Mountain Brook. The event raises funds to support EAB’s mission to provide free medical care, medication, and health education to medically uninsured or underinsured residents of Birmingham. All proceeds will support EAB operations through the EAB Gift and Endowment Fund.
The race starts and finishes at the parking lot of 32 Vine St, across from the Mountain Brook Community Education. The event program includes a warm up led by Battle Republic Fitness Studio, a DJ for music, a costume contest with prizes, and an after party at Good People Brewing Company with a portion of sales benefitting EAB.
Pre-race packet distribution takes place at Volker Hall on Friday, November 6, with additional packet distribution and check-in the morning of the event. Registration categories and fees are listed below; online registration is available in advance and donations are accepted through the race registration platform or the UAB giving platform.
EAB operates two weekly primary care clinics and specialty Saturday clinics including Reproductive Health, Mental Health, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Optometry, and Urology, and uses event proceeds to support clinical services and student service-learning opportunities.
