Event Overview
The Enlightenment Mountain Run is a new two-day trail running event at Angel Fire Resort in New Mexico. It is the opening event of the Mountain Cap Trail Series.
Distances
The event offers two distances, which take place on consecutive days:
- Enlightenment Ascent: 5 miles on Saturday. This is an uphill-only run on a singletrack trail to the summit. Runners can take a free lift ride back down.
- Mountain Classic: 10 miles on Sunday. This run follows the same uphill route to the summit and then returns via the trail back to the start/finish area.
Course Details
Both courses use the Enlightenment Trail, which is a singletrack trail with approximately 2,000 feet of ascent. The trail offers panoramic views. The start/finish area is at the base of the Chile Express lift. The course will be marked with yellow flagging and signs.
Logistics
Packet pickup is on the morning of each race near the lift. Parking is available in large gravel lots near the start/finish. The event partners with local lodging providers for discounts and offers nearby camping.
Trail Stewardship
