End of the Road Half Marathon & One Tunnel 4 Miler
End of the Road takes place October 24–25, 2026 in Waterfall, Pennsylvania. The event centers on the old Pennsylvania Turnpike near 3005 Pump Station Rd and offers a half marathon, a four mile race, and two multi-day challenge options.
The course uses a stretch of the long-closed turnpike and includes two long tunnels identified as Sidling Hill and Ray's Hill. Runners will cover about five miles inside tunnels and additional miles on rolling rural roads with mountain views and peak autumn foliage. A headlamp or flashlight is required for tunnel sections.
Race days feature limited field sizes and official pacers for both half marathon events. Additional weekend activities include a Movie Night on the turnpike and packet pickup at a nearby host hotel, Holiday Inn Express Breezewood. Registration options listed for the event include standard entries, economy packages without swag, and virtual race alternatives. Typical race inclusions are a long sleeve tech shirt, a finisher medal, live timing and results, post race food and beverages, and awards for overall and age groups.
A preview video with footage from 2024 participants is available for those who want to see the course and tunnels in advance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
