Overview

The Empower Sports 5K takes place on September 19, 2026. The event features a 5K race and a 1 Mile run/walk option. The course route goes through the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, with a full 5K course described.

Race Details

Participants in both the 5K and 1 Mile events receive an event t-shirt. Registration for these events also includes post-race access to awards, food, and beverages at a location called the Palava Hut, as well as general admission access to the zoo for the day.

Registration Options

There are three main registration categories:

5K Runner: Registration fee of $35.00.
1-Mile Runner/Walker: Registration fee of $35.00.
Supporter Registration: Spectators must purchase a separate zoo admission ticket to enter the venue, even if they are zoo members. Ticket prices are listed as $20.50 for adults (ages 12-61), $18.50 for seniors (62+), and $16.50 for juniors (ages 2-11). These tickets must be purchased online in advance through the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo website, as the physical box office will not be open.

Awards

Awards will be given to the top five overall male and female finishers. Age group awards are also planned for categories ranging from 10 and under to 70+.
