Wagon Wheel Freedom Run/Walk
The Wagon Wheel Freedom Run/Walk is a 5 km event. It offers an on-site option in Emporia, Kansas, and a virtual option.
The on-site event takes place on November 7, 2026. It starts and finishes at the All Veterans Memorial (931 S Commercial St). The route is through the Flint Hills and is expected to be completely on gravel, weather permitting. Awards are given to on-site participants only. The top three male and female overall finishers receive a custom trophy. Age group awards are given in categories from 12 and under to 60 and over.
The virtual event can be completed anywhere. Participants can run, walk, or stroll their own 5 km route anytime between September 11 and November 11, 2026. A request is made for virtual participants to choose a route that passes a local veterans memorial if possible.
All finishers, both on-site and virtual, will receive a swag bag. Registration for the event opens on July 1. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
