Emil Zátopek Ostrava Golden Marathon

Emil Zátopek Ostrava Golden Marathon is an international road running event in Ostrava held on 24 October 2026. The race uses a certified city circuit with long, flat sections; the course was improved to reduce elevation and to be faster than in earlier editions. Start and finish are on the Městský stadion Ostrava - Vítkovice, with stadium facilities and spectator areas.

The event fields elite marathon runners alongside a range of shorter races and team formats. Race-day services include experienced race organisation, pacemakers for target finishing times, and a full programme for fans and families with music, food and retail. The event has included televised coverage and works with local authorities and partners.

A relay option divides the marathon into eight segments of about 5.274 km each, allowing teams to cover the full 42.195 km distance together. The organisers also highlight certified timing and athlete support on course. The inaugural edition produced a winning marathon time of 2:10:05, and later editions aim to provide conditions for fast performances.
