EMC DAM to DSM

EMC DAM to DSM is a half marathon event beginning at the Saylorville Dam in Polk City, Iowa, and finishing in Downtown Des Moines. The event includes an in person half marathon and a virtual option that allows participants to complete the same distance remotely during a limited time window before the event. The course begins on top of the Saylorville Dam and continues south through fields and rural areas of Polk County. Runners traverse I-35 at the Morningstar bridge, move into the Northside neighborhoods, and run along the Des Moines River at Birdland Park. The finish is in Downtown Des Moines, with athletes crossing the Des Moines River and passing the World Food Prize Building before reaching Cowles Commons across from The Des Moines Civic Center, where post race activities take place.
