Embrace Winter Run

Embrace Winter Run is a multi-distance winter running event held in Ottawa as an official Winterlude event. The event is based at the Canadian War Museum, 1 Vimy Pl, Ottawa, ON K1A 0M8. The course uses closed, paved roads and offers views of the Ottawa River, downtown Ottawa, and the Canadian War Museum. A certified course is used and the marathon course qualifies for Boston Marathon entry.

Race distances include:

• Marathon, 42.2 km
• Half Marathon, 21.1 km
• 10K, 10 km
• 5K, 5 km
• Snowy Shuffle Kids 1K, 1 km
• 6 Hour Urban Ultra, run as many laps as possible

Included with registration are a personalized race bib, professional timing, on-course nutrition supplied by XACT, race photography, and post-race snacks and hot chocolate. Additional services available include pre and post-race massage, chiropractic, and physiotherapy from The Movement Co. Podium prizes are awarded to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers. Finisher medals are an optional add-on; a shirt option is available before the stated deadline.

Practical details provided by the organiser include Strava route files for each distance, results and photos after the event, and bib pickup at Full Cycle Hintonburg and inside the Canadian War Museum. The event supports Imerman Angels, a charity that pairs cancer fighters, survivors, previvors, and caregivers with one-on-one peer support.
