Embrace Winter Run

Embrace Winter Run is an official Winterlude event in Ottawa offering multiple road race distances in winter. The course uses closed paved roads and includes views of the Ottawa River, downtown Ottawa, and the Canadian War Museum. A new six hour urban ultra for 2027 invites participants to complete as many laps as possible during six hours.

Pre-race materials include a virtual orientation video and an athlete handbook. Registration options may include a personalized race bib, professional timing, a certified course that qualifies for the Boston Marathon, on-course nutrition supplied by XACT, and race photography. Post-race provisions include snacks and hot chocolate. Pre and post-race massage, chiropractic, and physiotherapy services are provided by The Movement Co.

Podium prizes are awarded to the top three male, female, and non-binary athletes. Practical deadlines include a shirt order deadline on December 19, a medal add-on deadline on January 15, and an online registration deadline on February 10. Refunds are only available if cancellation insurance has been purchased. The event supports Imerman Angels, which provides one-on-one peer support for people affected by cancer.
