Embrace Winter Run: Supporting Imerman Angels
Embrace Winter Run is a winter running event in Ottawa held at the Canadian War Museum (1 Vimy Pl). It is an official Winterlude event and includes traditional race distances plus a new timed ultra introduced for 2027.
The event offers the following race options:
- 6 Hour Urban Ultra : run as many laps as possible
- Marathon (42.2 km)
- Half Marathon (21.1 km)
- 10K (10 km)
- 5K (5 km)
- Snowy Shuffle Kids 1K (1 km)
The course is certified and is a Boston Marathon qualifier. The route passes views of the Ottawa River, Downtown Ottawa, and the Canadian War Museum. Race services listed for participants include a personalized race bib, professional timing, on-course nutrition supplied by XACT, race medals, race photography, post-race snacks and hot chocolate, and pre/post-race manual therapy from The Movement Co. Podium prizes are awarded to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers. A discounted post-race brunch is available at Mill St Brewpub, located about 650 m from the venue.
This event supports Imerman Angels, an organization that provides one-on-one peer connections for people affected by cancer.
