Elwood Community Days 5k Run & Walk
The Elwood Community Days 5k Run & Walk takes place on September 11, 2026, at Lloyd Erickson Park, 801 N Chicago Street, Elwood, IL. The event features a 3.1 Miles course and a 75 minute finish cutoff.
Registration opens January 6, 2026 and is available through September 10, 2026; day-of registration carries a higher fee and does not guarantee a race shirt. Shirt orders are scheduled before August 23, 2026; registrations after that date may not receive a shirt. No refunds will be issued. The event is held rain or shine unless there is imminent danger.
All finishers receive a 3D medal. Placement awards are given to top finishers by age and gender, and awards are distributed at the main community pavilion. Packet pickup is available at Elwood Village Hall, 401 E Mississippi Ave; unclaimed packets will be donated unless other arrangements are made. Raffle tickets and extra shirts are offered during packet pickup and at the event.
The event is hosted by the Bradley Veerman Charity Fund, a 501(c)(3). Proceeds support EMS scholarships and donations to non-profit organizations focused on public service, public safety, and first responders.
