Elwood Community Days 5k Run & Walk 2026
The Elwood Community Days 5k Run & Walk is a commemorative athletic event held in Elwood, Illinois. Located at Lloyd Erickson Park, the race starts at the West Pavilion and takes place on September 11, 2026. This year's event coincides with the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, and is held in memory of fallen heroes, specifically honoring the legacy of public service and first responders.
Participants can choose from the following distance:

The course has a 75 minute cut-off time for completion. All registrations include entry to the Main Community Days Event and one beer ticket. Participants who register by August 23 receive a guaranteed event shirt, while registrations after this date or on the day of the race do not include a shirt guarantee.
The event is hosted by the Bradley Veerman Charity Fund, a not-for-profit organization. Proceeds are used to support EMS scholarships and other organizations dedicated to public safety and first responders. Awards are presented to the top finishers based on age and gender categories at the Main Community Days Pavilion following the race. The event takes place rain or shine, and a raffle is held on-site with various prize baskets available.
Entry packets are available for collection at the Elwood Village Hall on the day before the race or at the race location on the afternoon of the event. All packets not collected by the designated time are donated to charity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
