The Elwood Community Days 5K Run & Walk takes place on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Lloyd Erickson Park, 801 N Chicago Street, Elwood, IL 60421. The race is a community 5-kilometre run and walk that begins at the West Pavilion. Entry to the main Community Days event and one beer ticket are included with registration.
Logistics and purpose
Pre-race packet pickup is scheduled for Thursday, September 10 at Elwood Village Hall, 401 E Mississippi Ave. Onsite packet pickup and late registration are available at the race location on race day. Regular registration is priced at $35 and increases after September 10; day-of registration increases to $40 and does not guarantee a race shirt. Shirt orders are placed on August 23, 2026; registrations after that date may not receive a shirt. There is a 75-minute cutoff to finish the course. Awards will be given by age and gender and will be presented at the Main Community Days Pavilion. Raffle baskets will be sold at packet pickup and race day; raffle tickets are offered as 21 chances for $20, with winners announced at 8:00 PM.
Proceeds support the Bradley Veerman Charity Fund, a 501(c)(3) that raises money for EMS scholarships and for nonprofit organizations serving public safety and first responders.
