Elkhorn Relay
This event is the 11th annual Elkhorn Relay organized by RUNOR Racing Co. It is a 6 person relay held near La Grande, Oregon, with a course distance listed as 80.6 miles and about 6,000 feet of total elevation gain. The race begins at Hilgard Junction State Park.
The route heads south on old Highway 244 and follows the Grande Ronde River before leaving the river and climbing into backcountry. The course includes more than 20 miles of gravel mountain roads and climbs toward the Elkhorn mountains and the backside of Anthony Lakes, reaching approximately 7,400 feet in elevation. Each team member runs a final trail leg that finishes at the ski resort.
Registration is offered in three windows with tiered entry fees: early registration from November 21, 2025 to January 31, 2026 at $500; regular registration from February 1, 2026 to May 31, 2026 at $550; and late registration from June 1, 2026 to July 11, 2026 at $600.
