About the race
El Diablo is a point-to-point trail event on Jersey’s north coast offering two distances:
- Half Marathon – 13.1 miles, ~2,096 ft elevation, entry £45, 4 hour cut-off.
- 10k – 10 km, ~700 ft elevation, entry £35, 2 hour cut-off.
Both routes finish at Milano Bars and follow rugged coastal paths with rocky, muddy and potentially slippery sections, steep steps, climbs and technical descents. The Half Marathon runs from Les Platons to Milano Bars and repeats multiple climbs and descents; the 10k starts at Crabbe and joins the Half finish.
Entries include an event T-shirt (if entered before the clothing order closes), a distance-specific finisher medal, course marking with GPX backup, aid support offering water, Coke and simple treats, race photos when available, and on-course marshals. The event is cup-free so runners must bring a reusable cup or drinking vessel.
Mandatory kit is required for all entrants to ensure safety and self-sufficiency. Core requirements include trail shoes with grip, a means of carrying kit and at least 1000 ml water capacity, a foil blanket or bivvy, a warm long-sleeved layer, charged phone with race contact details and What3Words, whistle, food and sufficient battery, and the route loaded on a device. Weather-dependent items may be added before the race. Course signage is provided at decision points but runners should carry the GPX as backup and plan transport for the point-to-point finish.
