EHQ Valley Falls 6 & 12 Hour : Valley Falls State Park, Fairmont WV
The EHQ Valley Falls 6 & 12 Hour is an endurance trail event held May 8, 2027 at Valley Falls State Park in Fairmont, WV. The course is a roughly 5.25 mile loop with about 750 feet of vertical gain per loop, and it will run clockwise for 2027. Trail surfaces include gravel service roads, single track, streams, rocky climbs, rolling trails, and views of the falls. The trail will be very clearly marked.
Event formats
- 12 Hour solo and 4 person relay
- 6 Hour solo and 2 person relay
Two fully stocked aid stations are located at the start/finish and the halfway point. Hydration options include electrolytes, water, and soda; food includes typical ultra fare and vegan options; salt caps will be available. Runners should carry their own cups or handhelds as disposable cups are limited. Aid operations will be as touchless as possible.
Facilities note one restroom with running water and a porta potty. There are no on site showers and camping in the park is not permitted after hours. Personal aid stations and crews are permitted; canopies should not be placed in gravel parking areas.
Race rules state that only full laps count toward totals. Poles and pacers are permitted. Pets are not allowed. Runners must stay on park trails and follow Leave No Trace principles. West Virginia state park rules prohibit alcohol.
Awards and swag include top three male and female awards, a participant shirt designed by local artists, distance mementos for standard marathon and ultramarathon distances, a fastest lap award, and free event photos. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
