Description
The 17th Edmonton Heartbeat Run presented by Realty Focus takes place on September 20, 2026 at William Hawrelak Park. The event base is Picnic Site #2, 9330 Groat Road, Edmonton, AB. Distances offered include:

- 3 km
- 1 km
Funds raised support the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute through the University Hospital Foundation, with a stated fundraising goal of $15,000. Published registration fees are $45 for the 10 km, $40 for the 5 km, $35 for the 3 km and $25 for the 1 km; fees increase on January 1, May 1 and September 1.
Course details for the 10 km start at Picnic Site #2, follow the North Saskatchewan River trail to a 2.5 km turnaround, return past the finish, then continue east and climb Groat Road before a turnaround near 74 Avenue and a final descent on lower gravel trails to the finish. The 5 km uses the first section of the 10 km course with the 2.5 km turnaround. The 3 km is a 1.5 km out-and-back. Water stations are located at the 2.5 km turnaround and at the lap/finish area; cups are provided and participants may carry their own bottles.
Package pickup is available the day before at Fast Trax Run & Ski. Ample parking is available throughout the park. Walkers must keep to one side of the trail. No age group awards will be given this year; all participants receive a finisher medal. Results will be posted onsite as updated and official results published within 24 hours. An air quality protocol applies and events will be cancelled at level 7 or greater; if cancelled, event merchandise will be mailed to participants.
