Edmonton First Responders Half Marathon : Edmonton, May 3, 2026
Now in its 14th year, the event honours police, fire, EMS and frontline responders. The races take place on the River Valley trail system around Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park in Edmonton.
Distances offered:
- 21 km - half marathon on a scenic river valley trail.
- 10 km - aimed at experienced runners and team entries.
- 5 km - run or walk for new runners and families.
- 1 km - kids fun run.
Each entry includes a donation to charity partners OSICan and the Canadian Mental Health Association (Edmonton Region). The 2024 event raised over $21,000 for mental health and resilience programs supporting first responders and their families. A Run for Charity option allows entry at a reduced fee with a required fundraising commitment specified by the organizer.
Team events are available for the 21 km and 10 km. Teams consist of four runners who all run the full course together; team results are the average of individual times and these are not relay events. Organizers state that entries are non-refundable and outline a force majeure policy that may offer a virtual entry or a partial credit if the event is fully cancelled.
