Earth Day Recycled 5K Run & Trail Clean Up

The Earth Day Recycled 5K Run & Trail Clean Up is a community-focused event held at Cornerstone Park in Henderson. The event takes place on the Union Pacific Railroad Trail and is open to participants of all fitness levels. As part of the environmental theme, the event utilizes recycled materials from previous races, including unused bibs, souvenir t-shirts, and medals.

Following the physical activity, participants have the opportunity to stay for a community clean-up effort. This volunteer activity focuses on maintaining the local environment at Cornerstone Park and along the adjacent trail. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable, weather-appropriate activewear, specifically in earth-tone or green colors to celebrate the occasion.

The event includes the following distances:

  • 5K Run
  • 1-Mile Walk

The course is set within a natural environment, and participants are advised to use supportive footwear suitable for walking or jogging on the trail. Water and sunscreen are recommended for all attendees. Packet pickup is available at the concessions area in Cornerstone Park in the days leading up to the event, as well as on the morning of the run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
