Event Overview
The Earth Day 5k takes place at the Shawnee Prairie Preserve in Greenville, Ohio. Organized by the Greenville High School Science Club and Environmental Club, this event is open to both runners and walkers. Participants can also bring dogs, provided they are on a leash no longer than six feet and owners provide their own waste bags.
Participation Details
The event features a single distance:
- 5 km
The entry fee is $20. Participants who register before March 31 receive a commemorative t-shirt made from 50% recycled plastic bottles. Registration remains open after this date, though t-shirts are not included for later entries. All participants receive goody bags made from recycled materials. After the race, the organizers provide campfire s-mores and hot dogs for attendees.
Awards and Categories
Medals are awarded to the top two overall male and female finishers. Additionally, the top two finishers in several age categories receive medals. These categories include: Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
