Dyslexia Dash - 3+ Mile Run or Walk
The Dyslexia Dash is a community 3+ mile run or walk held in Westlake, Texas, aimed at raising awareness of early detection of dyslexia and other learning differences. The event describes the distance as approximately a 5K route and welcomes runners and walkers.
Participants receive a race t-shirt, a medal and a goody bag. Additional items such as water bottles and socks are distributed to a random selection of bib numbers. Race packet pick up begins at 7 am on event day. Day-of registration is accepted until about 15 minutes before the race.
The event notes that dyslexia affects about 20% of the population and states its primary goal as increasing awareness of early detection and encouraging a supportive environment for people with learning differences. The race is sponsored by Lifetime, whose parking lot is used for the start and finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
