About the race
The Durban Ultra Triathlon takes place at Country Club Beach, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa on 7 March 2027. It is a multisport triathlon event offering individual and relay categories across three main distances, plus an aquabike option. The event notes a full road closure for the cycle route.
Distances and minimum ages:
- Sprint: 750 m swim, 20 km cycle, 5 km run (Min age 16 years)
- Standard: 1.5 km swim, 40 km cycle, 10 km run (Min age 17 years)
- Ultra / Aquabike: 2 km swim, 80 km cycle, 18 km run (Min age 18 years)
Entry categories include individual, relay teams, and pensioner categories for Sprint, Standard and Ultra distances. Pricing is tiered by entry period: Early Bird (1 July–1 Nov), Standard (2 Nov–1 Feb), and Late (2 Feb–2 Mar). Entry fees vary by distance and by individual or relay entries; Aquabike and Ultra have distinct fees. A Triathlon South Africa temporary day licence fee applies if required; fees differ by category.
Early bird and standard entries include a goodie bag and technical race apparel for certain distances; sprint entries receive a pair of socks while standard and ultra entries receive a backpack.
