Durban International Marathon 42.2 km
The Durban International Marathon is a 42.2 km road race scheduled for 3 May 2026. The course starts at Prospecton Road and finishes at the Moses Mabhida Stadium People’s Tunnel. A six hour cutoff applies to the race.
Race operations include registration, race-kit collection and late entries at two venues: Pietermaritzburg (Msunduzi Athletics Stadium) on 28 April and Durban (The Globe, Suncoast Casino, Suncoast Boulevard) on 1 May. Shuttle bus transport to the start is available for a fee; the published pick-up point is Kings Park Swimming Pool with an early morning pickup window.
Entry is limited to licensed athletes only; the organiser distinguishes licensed athletes (those registered to a KZN Athletics affiliated club with a 2026 permanent licence) from unlicensed athletes. A temporary licence fee of R120 applies only to elite or international athletes where relevant.
Entry fees are published in phases for local and international entrants. Local phased fees listed are R450 (Phase 1), R480 (Phase 2) and R530 (Phase 3), with an 8% administration fee included; international early-bird and phased fees are also published, and a late online entry option is listed.
