Event Overview
The Dunedin Veterans Day Honor Runs take place in Dunedin, Florida, to celebrate and honor individuals who have served or are currently serving in the military. This annual event is co-sponsored by the City of Dunedin and features a course that utilizes the Pinellas Trail. The race begins and ends at the Dunedin Hale Center, located directly across from Dunedin Stadium.
Course Details
The event takes place on the fully paved Pinellas Trail. The route is an out and back course heading north from the Hale Center. The trail is noted for being stroller friendly, and law enforcement officers are positioned at intersections to assist with traffic control.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 10 km: A two-loop course utilizing the 5 km route.
- 5 km: A single-loop course for runners or walkers.
- Kids Dash: A short run for children ages 1 to 10, separated by size.
Participant Information
The event is described as a non-competitive, celebratory run. While an electronic race splitter timing system is used to gather participant times, results are not posted at the venue. Instead, participants can view results online on the afternoon of the race. All finishers in the 10 km and 5 km categories receive an American-themed medal and a promotional shirt. Participants in the Kids Dash receive a finisher medal but do not receive a shirt.
Free parking is available for attendees at the Dunedin Hale Center and the Dunedin Library. Registrants receive an email on the day before the event with specific parking instructions and bib number assignments. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
