The Dunboyne 10K Road Race

The Dunboyne 10K is an established event on the Irish road racing calendar. Hosted by Dunboyne AC, the race takes place on a route known for its fast potential. The course begins at the Old Navan Road and follows a flat, left-handed path through Dunboyne Village. Participants travel around the Moor of Meath route and return via Rooske Road. The final 380 meters of the race take place on a synthetic running track.

The event caters to a wide variety of participants, including those targeting specific times and individuals who are new to fitness, walking, or running. To assist runners in reaching their goals, the organizers provide official pacers for several time targets:

  • 10 km (Pacers for 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, and 70 minutes)

Cash prizes are awarded to the first man and first woman across the finish line. Further prizes are available across multiple categories, including the first six senior finishers, various age categories ranging from Over-40 to Over-70, and junior categories for those under 19. There are also prizes for the first four club teams. The Colman Jarrett Cup is presented to the first athlete from the host club to complete the race. The event is known for its hospitality and includes a post-race gathering for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
