About the race
The Dunboyne 10K is an annual road race organised by Dunboyne AC in County Meath. The 2027 edition is scheduled for Sunday March 21st, with entries opening on Sunday October 18th. The event uses a measured 10 km road route that runs from the Old Navan Road through Dunboyne Village, around the Moor of Meath, and back via Rooske Road, with the final 380 m finished on the club's synthetic running track.
A revised route introduced in 2022 showed strong potential for fast times and attracted a high-performance field. The race doubled as the national 10K championship in 2024 and 2025 and recorded a field of over 1500 entrants. Organisers provide race pacers for a range of target times to help runners aim for a specific finish time. Prizes include cash awards for the top male and female finishers, age category prizes across several masters brackets, junior prizes, club team prizes where four scores count, and a named cup for the first home athlete from Dunboyne AC. The event emphasises a friendly, safe environment and includes post-race activities and hospitality for participants and spectators.
