Event Information
The Dunboyne 10K Road Race is a local race with a long-standing reputation, often taking place on the last Sunday in March.
Route
The event covers a 10 km distance. The race starts on the Old Navan Road and follows a fast, flat, left-handed route through Dunboyne village. It continues around the 'Moor Of Meath' and returns via Rooske Road. Since 2023, the finish is on a synthetic running track for the final 380 meters.
Features and History
The route is known for its fast potential. In 2022, a new course was introduced. The event has also served as the Athletics Ireland National 10K. The atmosphere is described as a fun day out in a friendly and safe environment, with a post-race event and hospitality.
Race Support
The organizing club, Dunboyne AC, provides race pacers to help participants target finish times of 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, and 70 minutes.
Prizes
Prizes are awarded in several categories. These include cash prizes for the first man and first woman, as well as awards for senior, age category (over 40 to over 70), junior (under 19), and club team placements.
