Duff Dog Backyard Ultra - Luverne, MN
Duff Dog Backyard Ultra takes place on October 10, 2026, at Blue Mounds State Park near Luverne, Minnesota. The event uses an established trail system and a loop course that is about 95% grass, with a little gravel and a short stretch on paved path. The runner support area includes shade and a shelter building, and there is nearby camping available just off the course for family and friends.
The format follows Backyard Ultra rules. Each loop must be 4 miles 880 feet in length (metric equivalent 6.7056 kilometers). Loops start precisely one hour after the previous start, with warnings given three, two, and one minute before each start; all competitors must be in the starting corral at the bell. Except for restrooms, competitors may not leave the course until a loop is completed. No non-competitors are allowed on the course, and no personal aid is permitted during a loop, though common aid stations are allowed. Each loop must be completed within an hour, and artificial aids, including trekking poles, are not permitted. Timing of loops is optional. The winner is the last person to complete a loop; all others are recorded as DNF and results are given as distance covered. The race is open ended.
