Duck Waddle 5K
The Duck Waddle 5K takes place at Finley River Park, also known as Ozark City Park, along the Finley River in Ozark, Missouri. The event features a scenic and flat course with a starting and finishing point located on the main road in the middle of the park, specifically in front of the Blue Sertoma Tent.
Participants can choose from three distinct race options:
- 5 km running race
- 1 mile fun run
- Samuel Adams Beer Mile (restricted to participants aged 21 and over)
The Samuel Adams Beer Mile consists of one lap around the park featuring four stations. For the 5 km and 1 mile distances, participants are asked to position strollers, walkers, and dogs on leashes towards the back of the starting group. The use of headphones or earbuds is discouraged during the run.
Pre-registered participants who sign up by June 5th receive a custom race bib and a ticket for the Duck Race. This entry provides a chance to win various prizes, including a vehicle, as a yellow duck is entered to float down the Finley River on the runner's behalf.
All runners receive a finisher medal, though medals for the 5 km are limited to the first 200 finishers. The entry fee includes a t-shirt and a pancake breakfast provided by Village Inn. Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners, as well as the top finishers in age groups ranging from under 7 to over 80.
