Duck Donuthon
Duck Donuthon is a run combined with an eating competition held at McCowin Park in Ammon, Idaho. The course uses some grass and a loop around the bike path, and a designated "pig pen" area with music is used for the eating portion. Duck Donuts closed on May 22 and cannot supply donuts; Baker's Dozen of Idaho Falls will provide the event donuts.
The format pairs running laps with an eating task: after completing the running portion of a lap, participants enter the pig pen to take one donut and must eat it before returning to the start/finish and repeating until the required number of laps and donuts are completed. The One Mile event offers open start times every 15 minutes.
Distances and basic requirements:
- Lil Ducky - 1 Mile: Run 1 mile then eat 1 donut; open starts every 15 minutes.
- Hungry Ducky - 5k (3 Miles): Run 3 miles and eat 3 donuts.
- Crazy Ducky - 10k (6 Miles): Run 6 miles and eat 6 donuts.
- Ducky Beast - 1/2 Marathon: Run 13 miles and eat 13 donuts.
Chip timing is provided by Vector Timing for the 5k, 10k and half marathon, and awards are planned for the fastest male and female finishers in those races. Finishers receive a finisher award; the half marathon entry notes a baker's dozen of donuts only if the race is finished. All participants receive a coupon for a free donut to redeem later. Volunteers receive a T-shirt and a free race entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
