Event Overview
The Duck Donuthon is a combined running and eating event taking place in Ammon, Idaho. It is described as a "fun run mixed with an eating competition" and is held at McCowin Park. The course involves sections on grass and a loop around the park's bike path.
Event Format
Participants run a loop, then enter a designated "Pig Pen" area to eat one donut before returning to the start/finish line. This run-and-eat cycle repeats until the total distance and corresponding number of donuts are completed. The event offers music in the "Pig Pen" area.
Available Distances
The event consists of four distinct race distances, each with its own name, required distance, and number of donuts to eat.
- Lil Ducky: Covers a total distance of 1 mile and requires eating 1 donut. It features rolling start times.
- Hungry Ducky: Covers a total distance of 5 km (3.1 miles) and requires eating 3 donuts. It has a mass start.
- Crazy Ducky: Covers a total distance of 10 km (6.2 miles) and requires eating 6 donuts. It has a mass start.
- Ducky Beast: Covers a total distance of a half marathon (13.1 miles) and requires eating 13 donuts. It has a mass start.
Other Details
Chip timing for the 5k, 10k, and half marathon distances is provided by Vector Timing, with awards for the fastest male and female finishers in these categories. All participants receive a finisher award. Participants also receive a coupon for a free donut from Duck Donuts to be redeemed later.
