DSE 60th Anniversary 5k
The DSE 60th Anniversary 5k is a community 5 km event held on August 30, 2026 and presented by the DSE club. Registration is required in advance for all participants; there is no race-day registration. The race fee includes a swag bag and a medal.
The course begins at the amphitheater next to the Warming Hut on the west end of Crissy Field. Runners follow the shoreline path east along the Golden Gate Promenade. At Mason Street the route bears slight right and passes Sports Basement, then turns left onto a connecting trail to rejoin the Promenade and proceeds toward East Beach. Participants turn around at a cone just before the East Beach bridge, then take a diagonal path across the field back to Mason Street. From Mason Street the course takes a hard right to return to the Promenade, heads west past the Warming Hut to Hopper’s Hands at Fort Point where participants touch the sign and turn back. The finish is at the Warming Hut.
The DSE describes its mission as encouraging runners and walkers to compete, socialize, and improve. The event uses public paths and landmarks at Crissy Field and Fort Point as course references. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
