Event overview
The Dryden Ugly Sweater 5K is scheduled for Saturday, November 22, 2025, in Dryden, New York (42 W Main St, Dryden, NY 13053). This is the 6th annual edition. The event offers in-person and virtual options and includes team designations of Team Santa and Team Grinch. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to wear costumes or ugly sweaters. All participants receive a custom Ugly Sweater 5K stocking and a finisher medal. An ugly sweater contest will award prizes for Best, Most Creative, and Funniest.
Course and logistics
The in-person 5K starts at Montgomery Park, behind the Historical Dryden Hotel (built in 1844), with most of the route on the new Dryden Rail Trail. The first 1/2 mile is on paved roads; the remainder is on the rail trail. The trail is mostly grass with some gravel sections, is described as wide and flat, and has a total elevation gain of 35 feet. Post-race activities will be at the Dryden Hotel, where warm food and beer specials will be available free for event participants. Packet pickup includes a pre-race option (TBD) and a race-day pickup at the Dryden Hotel.
