Cayuga Trails
Cayuga Trails is a trail ultramarathon held Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Old Y Camp in Robert Treman State Park, Ithaca, NY. The event offers two distance options:
- 50K: 31.6 miles, ~6,882 feet elevation gain
- 50 Mile: 50 miles, ~10,203 feet elevation gain
The course is roughly 95% trail and 5% paved, composed mainly of singletrack. Routes pass numerous waterfalls, include historic stone stairs, and traverse mixed eastern forests, with a few miles in an out-and-back format.
Aid stations are placed along the route and provide water, an E-drink option, soda, and assorted foods; gluten-free options are offered when possible. Entrants may leave drop bags at the Y Camp staging area (miles 10, 25, 35) and have one shuttled to Buttermilk aid locations (miles 15, 20.5, 40, 45.5). Note that Buttermilk drop bags will be returned only after that aid station closes and unclaimed bags will not be returned.
Packet pickup is available the day before and on race morning at the Y Camp staging area. Parking for the 50 Mile field is along the staging access road off Route 13 South; 50K parking is along the Lower Park Road inside Lower Robert H. Treman, with about a one mile walk to the staging area. Crews are allowed but additional crew cars are restricted due to limited parking.
The event provides race entry, event schwag (TBD), a finisher’s medal from Ragged Cuts, and post-race food from Fitnell Farms. The organizer maintains a no-refund policy but will roll entries into another event if notified at least 30 days before the race. Capacity targets a 400-runner starting field, with a typical no-show rate near 10 percent. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
