Drumheller Wild Rose Women's Triathlon
The Drumheller Wild Rose Women's Triathlon takes place on May 31, 2026 at the Drumheller Aquaplex, 100 Riverside Dr W. The transition area and pool are located near the World's Largest Dinosaur.
Race distances
- Sprint: 750 m swim, 19.5 km bike, 5 km run
- Super Sprint: 300 m swim, 10 km bike, 2.5 km run
- Team Sprint: same distances as the Sprint
The swim is a pool swim with a continuous flow of athletes in lanes. Athletes line up by estimated swim time and time limits apply as minutes from each athlete's start. Silicone swim caps are provided and spare caps will be available.
After the swim athletes exit the Aquaplex and run about 50 m barefoot to transition. Helmets must be on with the chin strap fastened before touching the bike. Athletes must wait until the designated mount line to get on their bikes.
Each bike distance completes a single loop and the bike course remains open to traffic. Key safety rules include staying to the far right, never crossing the yellow center line, maintaining about 10 m between riders, and passing on the left. There are no aid stations on the bike.
The run course uses pathways, roads and sidewalks. A water aid station is located at the Sprint turnaround. The courses are described as generally flat with modest elevation gain. A portion of registration proceeds supports the YW Calgary, and chip timing with official results is provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
