The Dragons 5K presented by Orthopedic Associates takes place on July 18, 2026 at Day Air Ballpark in Dayton, Ohio. The event offers an in-person 5K and a Virtual 5K option. The virtual option allows participants to run, walk, or hike the 5K anywhere and submit their time online by July 31, 2026. The race is described as drawing over 3,000 participants annually. The race entry includes a swag bag that contains a 5K t-shirt, a medal, a Dragons hat, and four stadium tickets for a Dragons game.
Registration, logistics and prizes
Registration opens March 2, 2026. Base registration pricing listed is Adults $25 and Youth (17 and under) $20; adult pricing increases to $30 on April 12, $35 on June 1, and $40 the week of the race. The virtual option carries an additional $10 for shipping of swag bag items; pickup at the Dragons Box Office is offered as an alternative. Entries submitted by July 5, 2026 are guaranteed the listed swag items and requested t-shirt size while supplies last. Race swag and bib pickup will occur in the days before the event, with a post-event pickup option at the Dragons Box Office.
In-person participants are electronically timed. Overall top three finishers in each gender category receive engraved bats. Age group awards are e-gift cards for the top three in each age division. Group prizes are offered for groups of 10 or more; virtual participants are not eligible for prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
