Dragon Fly Triathlon & AquaBike
Dragon Fly Triathlon & AquaBike is scheduled for July 25, 2026 at Cypress Point on the Lower Lake at Sardis Lake Reservoir in Sardis, Mississippi. The event includes both sprint and Olympic distances and offers aquabike and relay entries.
Distances include:
- Olympic: 1500 m swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
- Sprint: 750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run
The swim uses a sandy beach entry and exit at the lake. The bike course passes through farmland and is described as flat. The run combines pavement and trail sections. A physically challenged division may choose a run course that is either 2.5 km trail plus 2.5 km pavement or two laps of 2.5 km pavement to complete the 5 km run.
The event hosts the Mississippi Age Group and High School State Championships. State championship qualification for Age Group Nationals is the top 35% or the top five finishers in an age group, whichever is greater. Athletes qualify for Olympic-distance Nationals only through the Olympic-distance state race and for Sprint Nationals only through the sprint state race. High school award categories include overall club scoring and participation, and finishing high school athletes who meet the age requirement are eligible for sprint distance qualification. Club scoring follows standard cross-country rules. USAT will notify qualified athletes after results are submitted.
Packet pickup and on-site registration are scheduled in the days before the race at a retail pickup location in Bartlett, Tennessee and at the race site in Sardis. Finishers medals and food are provided and awards are given to overall, age group, and relay categories. Race day registration is available.
