Dragon Dash 5K and Little Lizard 1K, Lexington NC
West Davidson High School Athletic Department is hosting a community running event at West Davidson High School in Lexington, North Carolina. Proceeds will support resources, equipment, facility improvements, and opportunities for the school's athletic programs.
The event includes the following distances:
- 3.1 Miles (Dragon Dash 5K)
- 1K (.62 miles) (Little Lizard 1K for ages ten and under)
The 5K course is relatively flat and is a two-loop route that starts and ends on the track. The route includes a wooded trail, grassy areas, crushed gravel, and paved surfaces. Because of the mixed surfaces, the course is not suitable for strollers. Dogs are not welcome during either the 5K or the Little Lizard 1K.
Awards and participant provisions are specified for each race. The 5K will award medals to the overall top ten men and the overall top ten women and will enter all 5K participants in a prize drawing that includes items such as a 2026 WDHS football season pass and priority football parking. The Little Lizard 1K will award the overall top three boys and top three girls. Race shirts are guaranteed if registered by July 17th; the Little Lizard 1K is free but shirts must be added to registration.
Registration for both events opens June 8. Registration for the 5K closes July 15 with a $25 fee. Little Lizard registration closes July 31. Packet pick up is scheduled for 5 to 7 pm on Friday, July 31, location to be determined.
