2026 DPF 5K RUN/WALK
The event takes place on June 20, 2026 in Anniston, Alabama. The course is a 5K (about 3.1 miles) USATF certified route that surrounds Zinn Park at 101 W. 14th Street. The route is described as flat and runs through downtown Anniston.
Organizer and purpose
The race is organized by the Dee Pogue Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit with a youth-led mentorship program that focuses on S.T.E.M. education for young African American boys ages 8-12. The foundation reports a 100% high school to college transition rate for program completers. A portion of race proceeds will support male high school seniors in Calhoun County, AL who need financial assistance for college.
Registration, fees and race details
Registration pricing varies by date and category, with examples listed in the event information: a pre-early bird fee of $15 (June 15–30, 2025), student registration $20 (ages 18 and under), adult early bird $20 (through Dec 31, 2025), adult standard $25, and adult late $30. The last day to order a race shirt is May 31, 2026; shirts are not guaranteed after that date. Bibs must be visible between the neck and waist for chip reading and photo identification.
