DPF 5K Run/Walk - Anniston, Alabama
The Dee Pogue Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that runs a youth led, youth driven mentorship program focused on S.T.E.M. education for young African American boys ages 8 to 12. The program reports a 100% high school to college transition rate for participants who complete the program. The foundation’s stated mission is to develop adolescent boys into positive thinking young men through direct exposure and a five-tier underpinning.
The 7th annual DPF 5K Run/Walk takes place on June 19, 2027, near Zinn Park at 101 W 14th Street in Anniston, Alabama. The course is USATF certified and described as flat. The event distance is 3.1 miles. A portion of event proceeds will go to male high school seniors in Calhoun County, Alabama, to assist with college expenses.
Event logistics include an early registration opening date of June 21, 2026 and multiple pricing tiers through the months that follow. The last day to order a race shirt is May 31, 2027. Race day registration submitted between midnight and 6:29 am must be completed online; manual registrations at the check-in table begin at 6:30 am. Packet pickup and check-in are scheduled from 6:30 am to 7:45 am. Bibs must be visible between the neck and waist for chip reading and picture identification.
