Event overview
The 2026 DPF 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for June 20, 2026 in Anniston, Alabama (36201). This is the sixth annual edition of the event, organized by the Dee Pogue Foundation (DPF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit youth mentorship program focused on S.T.E.M. for African American boys ages 8-12. A portion of race proceeds will support male high school seniors in Calhoun County, AL who seek help with college expenses.
Course, registration and fees
The event uses a United States of America Track and Field (USATF) certified 5K (3.1 miles) course that surrounds Zinn Park at 101 W. 14th Street in downtown Anniston. The course is described as flat terrain. Race bibs must be visible between the neck and waist for accurate chip reading and photo identification. The last day to order a race shirt is May 31, 2026; shirts are not guaranteed after that date. Race-day registrations must be completed online prior to on-site intake; manual registrations are accepted at check-in.

- Student (age 18 and under, Jul 1, 2025–Jun 20, 2026): $20
- Adult early bird (Jul 1–Dec 31, 2025): $20
- Adult standard (Jan 1–May 31, 2026): $25
- Adult late (Jun 1–Jun 20, 2026): $30
The event offers a $100 prize for anyone who beats the standing record time of 18:20 set in 2023. The event fundraising goal shown is $5,000, with $150 raised so far. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
