Downingtown Good Neighbor Day - Firetrucks and Fireworks 2026

Downingtown Good Neighbor Day is a comprehensive community event held at Kerr Park in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. This all-day gathering supports local fire and rescue squads serving the Downingtown Area School District. The event features a wide range of athletic activities, approximately 80-100 craft exhibitors, and various food vendors, concluding with a fireworks display at dusk.

Participants can choose from several physical activities:

  • 5K Run for Life
  • 10K Run for Life
  • 15K Run for Life
  • 5K Freedom Walk (open to families and strollers)
  • 7 Mile Brandywine River Challenge (canoe or kayak)
  • 1K Kid's K (recreational run/walk for ages 12 and under)
  • Big Wheel Race (approx. 100 yards for ages 2-10)
  • Cornhole Madness (two-person team tournament)

The running events offer GND T-shirts to all registered participants and a Commemorative 250th Medal for all finishers. Special awards include cash prizes for the top male and female runners, as well as medals for the top three finishers in age categories ranging from 7 and under to 80 and over.

The Brandywine River Challenge follows a scenic 7-mile route through Chester County, ending at the Stroud Preserve. For younger participants, the Kid's K separates competitors by age to group similar-aged children together. The Big Wheel Race takes place on the gentle slope of the Pennsylvania Avenue Brandywine Bridge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
