Downingtown Good Neighbor Day - Firetrucks and Fireworks 2026
Downingtown Good Neighbor Day is a daylong community event held in Kerr Park in Downingtown, PA, that raises funds for local fire and rescue squads within the Downingtown Area School District. Proceeds support several emergency providers, including Alert Fire Company, Minquas Fire and EMS, Uwchlan Ambulance, East Brandywine Fire Company, Lionville Fire Company, Glenmoore Fire Company, and West Bradford Fire Company.
The day opens with the Run for Life series and a Freedom Walk and includes multiple races and family activities. Approximately 1,500 athletes take part each year. Throughout the day attendees can find food vendors, roughly 80 to 100 craft exhibitors, a canoe and kayak challenge on the Brandywine River, cornhole, and a fireworks grand finale at dusk.
Race awards and participant items are provided for many events. Registered runners receive event T shirts; the top male and female finishers in the Run for Life events receive a monetary award and medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each category. The kids events include T shirts and medals for finishers. Bib and T shirt pick up is available at the gazebo in Kerr Park on the days prior to and of the event.
