Downingtown Good Neighbor Day - Firetrucks and Fireworks 2026
Downingtown Good Neighbor Day is a community event on July 4, 2026 at Kerr Park in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. The event benefits fire and rescue squads within the Downingtown Area School District. Proceeds support local emergency providers including Alert Fire Company, Minquas Fire and EMS, Uwchlan Ambulance, East Brandywine Fire Company, Lionville Fire Company, Glenmoore Fire Company and West Bradford Fire Company.
The day features multiple races and activities, including these distances and events:
- 5K Run for Life
- 5K Freedom Walk (families and strollers welcome)
- 10K Run for Life
- 15K Run for Life
- 1K GND Kid's K for children 12 and under
- 7 miles Krapf’s Canoe/Kayak Brandywine River Challenge
- Cornhole tournament with team entry
- Big Wheel Race for children ages 2 to 10
Approximately 2,000 athletes participate each year. The event also hosts about 80 to 100 craft exhibitors and food vendors. The day includes many scheduled activities and finishes with a fireworks grand finale at dusk.
Race-related features include GND T-shirts for registered runners and walkers, a commemorative 250th medal for all runners, medals for top finishers, and a $100 award for the top male and female runners.
