Event details and activities
The 5k and 1-mile fun run start at a start line on Sheridan Avenue. Registration and check-in take place at the Sheridan Lawn. An awareness walk lines up at the same start line before the festival. Festival activities on the Great Lawn include raffles, inflatables, face painters, carnival games, music, talent shows, cotton candy, food trucks, and resource vendors. Complimentary parking is available in the lots directly south of the Myriad Botanical Gardens, accessed on Reno Avenue.
Purpose and use of funds
Proceeds support the Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma (DSACO). Funds stay in central Oklahoma to support programs and services, including an Enrichment Lab and free tutoring, microwave-based cooking classes, new parent packets and breakfasts, parent-to-parent support meetings, workshops, scholarships for national conventions, education and medical outreach, and family and teen/adult programs. The event aims to raise awareness and provide resources to promote acceptance and inclusion for people with Down syndrome. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
