Dover Pirate Basketball Run the Plank 5k
The Dover Pirate Basketball Run the Plank 5k is an athletic event held at 75 Pine Hill Rd in Dover, Arkansas. This second annual fundraiser supports the local boys' and girls' basketball programs, ranging from 7th-grade teams to high school athletes. Proceeds from the event assist with various program requirements, including skill-building camps, travel expenses for tournaments, registration fees, sports equipment, and team nutrition.
Participants can choose from the following event distances:
- 5k (running only)
- 5k (walking only)
- 1 Mile (kids fun run)
The event includes specific divisions for both runners and walkers. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers in both the running and walking categories. Participants who register by the early deadline are guaranteed an event shirt and a finisher medal. For those who do not register in advance, same-day registration is available on the morning of the event for an increased fee. Packet pickup is conducted on-site prior to the start of the first race.
