Dovedale Big Daddy : 1 February 2026

Dovedale Big Daddy is an AL-category fell race held in the Peak District, based at Ilam Primary School, Ilam, Staffordshire DE6 2AZ. The course is around the Manifold and Dovedale valleys and includes nine steep climbs and descents. The race distance is 20.4 km with 1370 m of ascent. The event is licensed by the Fell Runners Association and is governed by FRA rules.

Practical information

Pre-entry is required; entries open 1 July 2025 and close 29 January 2026. The event has a maximum capacity of 250 runners and a minimum age of 18. Entry fees listed are £20 for FRA members and £22 for non-members. Full FRA kit is required and the use of poles is not allowed. Teams are permitted and prizegiving will include individual and team prizes and prizes for Limestone Series overall categories. Parking is available at the National Trust car park at Ilam Park (pay and display), a short walk from the venue. Public toilets are available at Ilam Hall and limited toilets are provided at registration. Soup, cake, and a hot drink are included for runners after the race.
