Event
Dovedale Big Daddy is an AL-category fell race held on 1 February 2026 at Ilam Primary School, Ilam, DE6 2AZ in the Peak District. The route is about 20.4 km with 1370 m of climb and includes nine steep climbs and descents around the Manifold and Dovedale valleys. The race is part of the Limestone Series and is licensed by the Fell Runners Association (FRA) and governed by FRA rules.
Entry and rules
Pre-entry is required. Entries open 1 July 2025 and close 29 January 2026. Entry fees are £20.00 for FRA members and £22.00 for non-members. The event has a maximum capacity of 250 runners and the minimum age is 18. Full FRA kit is required and the use of poles is not allowed. Teams are permitted. Prizegiving will include individual and team prizes and awards for Limestone Series overall categories.
Facilities and logistics
Registration takes place at Ilam Primary School. Parking is available at the National Trust car park at Ilam Park (pay and display), a short walk from registration. Public toilets are available at Ilam Hall and limited toilets are provided at registration. Soup, cake, and a hot drink are included for runners after the race.
